Already renovated? You can still go smart.
Short answer: yes. In most homes, going smart means swapping switches, not touching walls.
Smart switches are mostly plug and play.
A smart switch replaces the existing switch at the same point. Your electrician removes the old one and wires the smart one in its place. No hacking, no new conduits, no reno. Most HDB flats and condos are ready as they stand.
When a little work is needed.
Two situations come up. First, a smart LCD panel switch or a dimmer switch needs a neutral wire, so choosing those means pulling one. Second, some switch boxes are shallow. A smart switch is a bit deeper at the back than a normal one, so the odd point may need deepening for a clean fit. Neither is a renovation. They're small jobs for your electrician.
Who installs what.
We handle the app setup and your Google or Alexa voice control. The physical switch swap is done by your own electrician, which keeps costs down and lets you use someone you trust. The exception is the LINE8 power track, installed by LINE8's own team so the warranty stays valid.
Mid-reno? Even better.
If work hasn't started, visit us first. We do a site visit with your electrician before the electrical work, then come back near the end to finish setup. Usually half a day.
